On August 23^rd, 2008, Women on Wheels MN Chapter sponsored the fifth annual Ride
for Survival.  Seventy-nine riders rode over a hundred miles on a beautiful summer day,
raising $4600 to support the work of Day One^®. 

 Cathy Meyers, the Chair of Women on Wheels, was instrumental in organizing
the event and making it a success.  “Day One^® is an ideal partner for Women on Wheels.
When we help Day One^® we are helping victims of domestic violence throughout the
whole state of Minnesota, including the victims living in small towns.  
We are giving them a chance at a peaceful life,” said Cathy.

The proceeds raised by the ride will assist Day One^® to answer more than 9,000 calls
fromvictims of domestic violence, and pay transportation costs for domestic violence
victims in need of emergency safe housing.
